Lately I was assigned a task to configure PeopleSoft Web Server with McAfee VirusScan Enterprise for Linux (which we already owned). It turned out that McAfee VSEL doesn't support ICAP, therefore it won't work with PeopleSoft. Then I was able to download a "Symantec Protection Engine for Cloud
Services" trial version and get it to work with weblogic web server. The
sample VirusScan.xml file that PeopleSoft provided with PIA installation worked
like a charm in a tools 8.52 environment.

Hi, I'm currently configuring SPE for cloud services 7 and PT8.53, but the webserver and SPE installation is on a different server. is this you setup as well? can you please share your virusscan.xml parameters? i have mine as:
disable all = false
name= symantec
class= psft.pt8.virusscan.provider.GenericVirusScanProviderImpl
icapversion= ICAP/1.0
service-name= /symcscan
policycommand= ?action=SCAN
address= serverIP
port= 8005
disable= false
But im getting the following error. port 8005 is the default SSL port, I also tried 8004 for admin port. there are no firewall between the two servers:
SEVERE: Unable to connect to Symantec
SEVERE: Unable to connect to the Scan server Symantec; Reason = CONNECTERROR
thanks in advance for our help.
Hi, Sorry I just saw your comment, you should use the ICAP port, which by default is 1344.
